Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the UISnap Chrome extension
("the Extension") handles information. We take your privacy seriously — the Extension
is designed to operate entirely on your device, with no external data collection.
Data We Collect
The Extension does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
Specifically:
- Screenshots are processed locally in your browser using the Canvas API
and saved directly to your device's Downloads folder. They are never uploaded to any server.
- Settings and presets (dimensions, corner radius, format, scale, named
presets) are stored locally using
chrome.storage.local. This data never leaves
your device.
- The Extension does not read, store, or transmit page content, URLs,
browsing history, or any other information from the pages you visit.
Permissions Used
- activeTab — Captures the visible area of the tab you are currently
viewing, and reads its viewport dimensions. This permission is activated only when you
explicitly interact with the Extension (open the popup and click Capture or Apply).
- scripting — Injects a minimal script to read
window.innerWidth, window.innerHeight, and
window.devicePixelRatio from the active tab. This is used solely to calculate
the correct crop area for the screenshot.
- storage — Saves your configuration and presets locally on your device
using Chrome's built-in storage API. No data is synced or transmitted.
- downloads — Triggers a file download of the processed screenshot image
to your local Downloads folder.
Third-Party Services
The Extension does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
No data is sent to any external server.
Children's Privacy
The Extension does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
